Second craft of the day:

I got so many headbands and clippies made today too! I made a few for myself to match some outfits and needed somewhere to keep them in my room. So I decided to empty out the container of oatmeal into a plastic baggie and make something:
I got some paper and my hot glue gun out and started covering the can:
Then I cut out a bunch of lopy circles and put a vintage earing through the center and glued it to the lid:
Then I filled it with hair clips and attached a few headbands to the outside and placed it on my dresser:
I like it and think it looks good sitting there! Plus, it serves as a place in which to put things!

My first ever attempt at a tutorial!

This is my fist ever tutorial so bear with me here and let me know if you have any questions! Also, If you decide to make one, send me a picture of it and I'll post it here with a link to your blog or fan site!

I started with some Iron On Transfer Paper:
Then found a picture online that I liked:
Of course you have to reverse it so it will face the correct way once on the fabric:
Then print and iron on to an old white Tee Shirt that my hubby can't wear anymore:
Cut it out and distress the corners of the transfer a bit. I took some tea bags out of the pitcure of tea I had just made and squished them onto the back side of the fabric to discolor it, Layed it out on a baking rack:
And put it in the oven at 250 degrees for about 20 minutes to let it dry out:
Once its cooled off completely scrunch it up really good to soften it. (It will be slightly stiff):
Roll it up and you have yourself an awesome little Pirate's map:
I hope Doodle likes it! She's been running around for weeks saying "Argh, mateys!" LOL ♥

I'll be linking this one up with Hazel and Honeysuckle

Anyone who knows me can tell you...

I LOVE TO SCRAPBOOK! I am actually starting to feel withdraws since it's been so long since I've done it. I've immersed myself into DoodleBoop Designs so much lately...

When I scrapbook I tend to zone out and really enjoy the peaceful feeling I get. I like looking at the pictures and letting them speak to me and sometimes I'll look online and find a layout I like and let it tell me what pictures to use.

Anyways, I feel like scrapbooking tonight. I have too many pictures of my little one and time is flying by. I need to get them organized and in her books.

I also want to make a portfolio with the new scrapbook I made using cardboard and decorative paper, a little ribbon and some miscelaneous stuff I had lying around! I started this a while back:

It's roughly 10.5"x7" and has a rustic feel. I sanded the paper lightly to give it some texture. I didn't worry too much about the edges being perfect! The washers attached to the ribbon binding give a unique embellishment! I have 6 pages of yummy space to fill with beautiful pictures of my Etsy listings and pretty flowers, stickers, buttons and other knick-nacks! I guess I'll have to let you all see the finished project when I'm done!

Well what am I waiting for? Off to SCRAPBOOK! ♥

The Versatile Blogger Award

I am still new to the blogger world, so to learn that CraftyStaci gave the Versatile Blogger Award to me was a great suprise! I have been crafting my whole life and recently decided to sell and blog about my creations. It brings me a wonderful joy to know that their are those out there who enjoy what I do! To honor Staci's choice of me I will follow the rules that go along with being a recipient of this award.

The first is that I’m supposed to tell you seven things about myself.

1. I had my daughter before my husband and I were married. Layne was born 7-16-09 and Lee and I were married 12-28-09!

2. I have a very small family (excluding my husband's)... Mother, Father, Brother and Grandmother

3. I am addicted to FREEBIES! I do surveys and product tests for free stuff and visit several freebie sites weekly! I have earned over $500 dollars in Amazon gift cards, checks, and cash... Not to mention all the coupons for free items. It's like my Birthday everytime I go to the mailbox!

4. I love to be creative! I crochet, decoupage, do graphic design, paint, sew, scrapbook, make bows, bead jewelry, do interior design, braid hemp, and draw! Anything crafty... I'm all over it!

5.  I have 14 tattoos and want more!

6. I've really been wanting to loose my post-baby weight but am not motivated enough to do something about it. My husband and I got each other the Xbox Kinect for Christmas this past year and I have the Your Shape Fitness game. I've only used it a few times and like to tell myself that I'm too busy crafting : (

7. I can't live without my music! My favorite bands are Radiohead, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds and Andrew Bird (these are just the top three... check out my Facebook page for SEVERAL more!)

Well, now that you guys know more about me it's time for the second rule: share this award with 15 other bloggers. I have several that I follow and adore very much. I get inspiration from these people and hope that you all will take the time to visit them!

Bad day!

So yesterday wasn't the greatest day for me. It all started when I got an email from Etsy saying they removed one of my Character Clippie listings based on Etsy's Copyright and Intellectual Property Policys. Oops!!! I'm still new to all of this business stuff and just didn't think when I posted it. I can't sale a clippie with a copyrighted image. What was I thinking? At least I didn't get fined or sued or something!

Then I received another email from the winner of my 200 fan giveaway saying that the clippie she received arrived damaged. WHAT??? By this time I was really getting down on myself. I'm really glad that she let me know but at the same time I was dissapointed that I had no control over it. I thought I had packaged it well but I guess it was damaged in transit. You tell me... (temperature? humidity?)

Before shipping:

After shipping:

I was so upset that I wrapped up my night and went to bed. I awoke this morning with a new light on the matter. I'm now telling myself to use all of this as a learning experience and to keep my head up... Everyone makes mistakes right? No big deal... I am sending out a replacement clippie and will be research my shipping methods to keep this from happening again. I also will only make Character Clippies with generic images on them. No more copyright infringement for me!
